Near Arts and Crafts Fail

It's hard to play Guess Who? when your boards look like this....

If you can't tell, the reason it's challenging to play is because there are missing people and missing holders on both player's boards.  Little hard to guess who when they don't even exist on your board!

Storm and I were playing today, even with the missing people, when I thought that just maybe I should fix this game.

So we gathered up some paper and supplies.

Coffee is a must.

Literally, my first thought when doing this, was that I could just draw out the missing people using the pictures we did have.

I clearly did not have enough coffee in my system......

Justin looks like he might be on some sort of mind altering drugs.  Brandon is looking like he's not too sure about the guy beside him, and James seems to have seen better days. (Storm drew James and she was laughing the whole time saying he looked like Mr. Potato Head!)

The caffiene and sugar kicked in.  My brain started to function.  And I photocopied the pictures with my printer on to a plain piece of paper.

Oh sure, seems like such a simple, normal, um, common sense solution now......

Anyways, we are back in the game people!

Still missing the yellow plastic holder for two of them, but at least these guys are recognizable now!!

Before and After

I just stumbled across a picture of how the buffet looked when I bought it.

Thought I'd do a quick before and after post.

Before:

Broken door.  Missing glass.  Plastic red handles.  Weird middle door.  Ugly cowboy-style(?) painted design on remaining glass door.  Warped drawer bottom.  And it was honey gold.  Ew.

After:

Door fixed by the father-in-law.  (Thanks Gord!)  Glass replaced after much teeth gnashing and a few curse words.  New handles.  Middle door removed and different shelves put in.  New unwarped drawer bottom.  Drawers re-lined with fancy paper.  Thick ugly varnish stripped and fresh black paint applied.

I like.

Getting things done

When asked what I was possibly going to do with myself now that all the kids are in school fulltime, I always answered "Get a job I guess."

Well, it's been almost 4 months. No job.  But somehow the days are still busy enough, and once in a while I actually get something done.  Hmm.  It may not have been those kids slowing me down....

Yesterday's Projects:

Fix a poor dog's tail

Patch the holes in some well worn ski pants
(It is indeed winter in Canada this week!)

Today's Project:

Painting some subway art, my way

I'll let you know how the art turns out.

Ryan just wanted know if it would be done by Christmas.

Funny man, that husband of mine.

A amusing story to end this very short post with.

Yesterday, I did fix Hunter's ski pants.  I also fixed Blade's.  He had a rip in the butt of them.

Blade was sitting at the table, having a cup of hot chocolate with Ryan after playing in the backyard.  I was discussing that I had sewn double layer patches on Hunter's pants.  Blade perks up and asks me if I sewed his pants.  I said that "Yes, I sewed the hole in your bum."   Blade looks happy at that thought and then says "But not the real hole in my bum".   ....  Ryan and I just looked at each other dumbfounded, then laughed our own arses off.

You can't make this stuff up.
